Terra Solutions - Press Room - News - MAXAM presents its blasting solutions at EXPOMIN to continue growing in the Latin American market

  • Present in Chile since 2004, it plans to expand its operations in the country thanks to its unique value proposition and its RIOFLEX bulk technology.

  • It is a market leader in Bolivia and has participated in the Panama Canal expansion project, one of the most complex engineering works in history.
MAXAM, a global technology leader specialised in the design, development, manufacture and application of energetic materials, will present its blasting solutions at EXPOMIN, which is held in Santiago de Chile from 23 to 27 April. The company will once again attend the most important industry event in Latin America, a region in which it hopes to continue to grow over the next years thanks to its unique value proposition and its RIOFLEX bulk technology.

This growth is based on more than 140 years of international experience combined with solid local capabilities. This allows it to work closely with its customers in order to develop specific blasting solutions for each site, with a smart use of energetic material to safely improve the productivity of operations and to minimise environmental impact.

Among the solutions that MAXAM will display at EXPOMIN are one of its unique technologies, RIOFLEX, a high energetic, robust and flexible density bulk product that achieves excellent performance in all types of rocks. This solution helps to minimise the total operating cost as it generates savings in drilling and blasting, as well as in the whole mining value chain as a result of improved fragmentation. This technology, proven in more than 140 consumption points in 25 countries, is ideal for large-scale mining to open pit mines more typical in the Chilean market.

The company will also have an innovation corner where it will display its latest technological developments with which it manages to simplify its clients' operations, increase productivity and create value. Among these innovations is the X-COPTER. Equipped with gas chambers and sensors, this drone allows to check the security of the land before and after blasting, as well as to measure aspects such as the level of land fragmentation and the volume of material generated.
“At MAXAM we adapt to the needs of each customer to offer customised solutions that help them to achieve their objectives. This flexibility combined with our international experience in all kinds of projects around the world creates a key competitive edge in a mining market as developed as in Latin America”, Diego Rodríguez Christensen explains, Regional General Director of MAXAM in Latin America.
